What is naprapathY

Naprapathy is a defined system of examination, diagnostics, manual treatments and rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal system. The therapy is aimed at restoring function through treatment of connective, muscular and neural tissues within or surrounding the area which is believed to be the cause of pain or disability.

Naprapathic treatment consists of a combination of manual techniques including spinal/joint manipulation and mobilisation using Naprapathic soft tissue techniques (trigger point treatment, massage, stretching etc). The manual techniques are often combined with advice which manages physical activity and ergonomics as well as rehabilitation training in order to solve or manage the problem. Naprapathy is an integrative approach to restoring health incorporating multiple therapies.

Naprapathy was founded in the early 1900s by Dr Oakley Smith, an early chiropractor. He studied the musculoskeletal system and therapeutic treatments including Osteopathy and Chiropractic and from this he developed and founded his own treatment called Naprapathy.

SCIENTIFIC BREAKTHROUGH FOR NAPRAPATHY
A recent research conducted at Swedish medical university Karolinska Institutet suggested that Naprapathy works better on back and neck trouble than the usual recommended treatments and advice from doctors.
